offline activity suggestion: cook something without a recipe or only referencing paper cookbooks/notes.
The first (and hopefully not last) monthly general chat post. For things that for whatever reason you feel don't warrant their own post, like:
- small vents about how you can't get your relative to contact you off whatsapp
- quick questions/requests for recs
- all barely on-topic chit chat

Offline activities today: Deep cleaned the whole fucking kitchen, whew
Try this ...
There are Amish cookbooks, if you want something that doesn't expect you to use a bunch of electronic kitchen equipment.
I use actual cooking appliances (stovetop, oven, microwave, crockpot, etc.) but I don't care for most of the smaller stuff like a blender or mixer. I favor recipes that I can mix with a spoon or knead by hand.
We live about 15 minutes from an Amish community and frequent them for shopping. While I don't draw the lines in the same places, I do follow their core premise: "Before adopting any new piece of technology, first determine if it will do more harm than good. If so, do not adopt it."
Technology is so unreliable around me, I find that much of it is just not worth the bother. I can manage to use a computer for some things, but mostly I'd rather do things by hand. It's usually faster and easier for me.
